Moonkey Group is proud to present Murder Below Deck, a groundbreaking Hollywood film that marks the first American feature film to be entirely shot on location in Bali, Indonesia. The thrilling drama had its red-carpet premiere on September 13, 2024, at Balism, Pererenan, Bali.

Murder Below Deck, directed by Brian L. Tan and produced by Geoffrey Kott, our director, in collaboration with Los Angeles-based Goodform LA, follows a woman who leaves her corporate job to join a luxury yacht cruise in Bali with her friend, only to witness a murder at sea. With key scenes shot on the Song of Songs, the world’s second-largest fiberglass yacht, the movie vividly captures the beauty of Bali’s coastlines and cultural heritage.

It was a pleasure for us, as a production house, to work with a dynamic cast including Harley Alexander, Alex Trumble, Nadine Alexandra, Quisha Saunders, Oliver Pras, Joseph J. U. Taylor, Taylor Davey, and Caroline Zachrie. Their youthful energy and vibrant performances made the experience even better and showcased the best of both international and Indonesian talent. This collaboration represents a significant step forward in film production in Bali and highlights the innovative spirit of creative production in Bali.

The premiere of Murder Below Deck was a resounding success. We were glad to welcome the film’s cast, prominent figures from the Balinese film industry, and a mix of local and international media. Attendees enjoyed a captivating screening of the movie, exclusive behind-the-scenes insights, and engaging talks from the director, producer, and cast. The evening was further elevated by the red carpet, a succulent appetizer, and a festive atmosphere thanks to our DJ.

As the first Hollywood feature film to be fully shot in Bali, Murder Below Deck not only showcases the island’s natural beauty but also represents a significant step in the history of Indonesian cinema and international film collaboration.

It was a pleasure for us, the Moonkey team, to work on this project, and we would like to thank everyone who worked on the film and who attended the premiere for making this project and this event unforgettable.

Bali has so much to offer, from stunning and diverse landscapes to well-developed infrastructure and deep cultural meaning. As a creative production house, we at Moonkey Group are wellequipped and experienced to bring new projects to life. With Murder Below Deck, we’ve already proven our capabilities by successfully producing a feature film entirely on location here. We can bring the same level of expertise and local insight to, perhaps, your next project.
